Team India on Saturday announced the squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and the ODI series against England. The captain Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar held a press conference. The biggest talking point was Shubman Gill being named as the vice-captain of the side. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out due to injury, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant were chosen as wicket-keepers ahead of Sanju Samson for the 15-man squad, while Mohammed Siraj was another big name left out. Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Shami also made it into the side, confirming successful recoveries from injury. Head coach Gautam Gambhir did not attend the press conference; he had made his views in a discussion with Rohit and the selectors on Friday evening.
